The Lass has a whole host of options for accommodating a range of activities, including business meetings, private dining, seminars, private match viewings, screenings of film and TV, parties, weddings, celebrations and society meetings and classes of any description.

Informal, pub urban wedding receptions on request in June, August and September

Free use for performing arts by arrangement. Just get in touch via email and outline your requirements and we´ll do our best to fit your show into our busy schedule! The majority of these uses take place in the Salmon Room, BUT we can also accommodate shows in our ground floor on very special occasions.

In-house Facilities on-hand to help your booking go smoothly, include;

LCD Projector (with low-down VGA connections in-place) and Pull-down Projector Screen - High power 'daylight' projector to display your Laptop PC on the pull-down screen.
Free Wireless Broadband Internet Connection.
DVD/Video Player, linked to the projector to enable instant playback as well as private screenings of any big game you may require
A 5.1 Sound System, with IPOD dock and oodles of connectivity to other media devices
Retro-Arcade Gaming Cabinets, perfect for chilling out while you´re on a break from the proceedings!
Stage Lighting and Demountable Staging, perfect for small recitals, comedy and speaking engagements
Mixer desk, speakers, amp, stands, microphones (including radio mic´s) and “house guitar” (deposit required to use any of the aforementioned)

We are also happy to consider any proposals you may have for the complete hire of the pub - be it as a film location, screening suite or as the ultimate venue for your Christmas party. We are also happy to discuss buffet catering, with buffet menus tailored to suit your requirements and budget.

As this is such a tricky blighter to quote for, we recommend you get in touch with us to discuss your requirements. As a rule of thumb, we require either a minimum spend guarantee, or a combination of catering and other spend with the levels varying depending on the date you require (for example – a busy Friday in December or Champions League Final will cost a lot more than a quiet Monday in early January....).

The Salmon Rooms

The Salmon Room is our purpose-built, first floor drama studio. Seating 40 in a flexible configuration, this space is in considerable demand and has hosted a range of innovative performances since 2008.

The staging is demountable and, by using the landing as an off-stage space, it is a space which is both flexible and intimate. We are in general very sympathetic to performance uses of the Salmon Room and will often make the space available to performers and companies free of charge, calendar permitting. This space is generally in complete use during our festival season in July and priority is given to in-house productions for rehearsal, casting and other uses.

The Snug

Probably our most eclectic of all our rooms, this much loved gem of a space is the ideal alternative for private dining, private match/programme viewings, informal business meetings, celebrations and society meetings.

The Velveted Saloon

By making clever use of our gorgeous velvet drapes, we are able to transform the rear of the pub into an intimate space that’s very inviting indeed! Take our word for it; we’ve been successfully using this space for comedy nights, multi-media conferences, weddings, retro gaming weekenders and theatre productions – most recently for Coronation Street 1968 and the Ballad of Halo Jones.

However, these bookings are not available throughout the year and will only be considered on a case by case basis.

Vegas-on-Medlock

Also new for 2008 is Vegas-on-Medlock – our wonderful new balcony over the River Medlock. Available year round, at Christmas we transform it into a Winter Wonderland whilst in the clear summery evenings, under the moonlight with the sounds of the River gently running below – you could literally be anywhere in the world!

For arts and performance uses in the Salmon Room, we will consider offering the facilities free of charge subject to availability, fair use and common courtesy. We reserve the right to withdraw this offer for mucky pups and timewasters.

We will consider wedding bookings during June and August, however this will necessitate booking the pub for the whole day and evening with all breakdown of equipment effected by 11:30am the following day. Again, please feel free to get in touch and we will be happy to chat through your requirements.

We give discounts for bookings of over 3 continuous days. Please feel free to call or email for a quotation. Prices quoted above are for guideline only.

We’re always open to interesting ideas and particularly keen to hear from community groups, teachers looking to hold classes or social and language groups (for instance, we can show German, French, Italian sport, films and TV via our many satellite systems) and can offer our facilities FREE OF CHARGE at certain times during the week.

Catering

Teas/Coffees – £1.20 per head, with subsequent refills chargeable at £1.00 per head

Buffet Lunch – Available at £6.00 per head (click here for a PDF download of our menu). Additional options to “upgrade” may be available on request – why not drop us a line to discuss?

Cooked Food – We are happy to serve any of our home-cooked treats during your booking (click here for a PDF download of our current menu; PLEASE NOTE; a pre-order will be required for parties in excess of 10). Our standard opening times are 12-2:15/5-8pm (Mon-Friday), 12-8pm (Sat) and 12-5pm Sunday.

Bespoke Catering – Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have anything special you would like us to prepare – be it a Wedding meal, special buffet or celebration meal.
