Dear Customer,

Welcome to the Lass O’Gowrie and to the first “Letter from the Chefs” this year.

We have taken this opportunity to let you know a little bit about our kitchen and the origin of our scrumptious food. We endeavour to bring you local produce from in and around Greater Manchester, always ensuring that our ingredients are the best in the area. Our butcher is Glynn Brothers of Partington whose farms in Cheshire and Staffordshire supply us with fresh high quality meat. Our fresh produce is purchased from Smithfield market. We use sustainable fish in our fish dishes, which is also caught and bought at Openshaws – a local fishmongers.

We also make sure that all our suppliers are local – not only to support some of our great local produce, but also to keep our carbon footprint to a bare minimum. That’s why, unlike many of the pubs in Manchester’s city centre, you won’t see any of the large nationals or frozen food giants supplying the Lass. We believe small to be beautiful!

We make every effort ensuring your food arrives at your table as delicious and appetising as possible; so please, if you have any issues let us know. Either speak to the manager, floor staff or chefs. Only through customer feedback, are we able to perfect our dishes and cater for you at a higher level upon your next visit.

We believe we make the best bloody pies in manchester

Our pies are 100% homemade, using handmade shortcrust pastry unlike many of our competitors who are happy to buy in mass produced puff pastry, or indeed the whole pie. We care and we think you'll notice the difference.

A range of Olives, Pickled Eggs and other delicatessen - all of which are prepared on the premises is available until close at the bar.

Soup

An ever evolving range of 100% home-made soups, chowder or stews is available at the bar until late every day.

Monday - Friday: 12-2:30pm & 5-9pm

Saturday: 12-7:30pm

Sunday: 12-5pm
